Really? I wonder what he looks like, otherwise... Was that a treasure chest that Thief had his head on?

Oh boy I've had that dream.

Yup, it was a treasure chest.
What dream, now?
(BTW, Spookty, your signature image is a bit...large. I'd appreciate it if you'd find a smaller file)

So - they're at the bottom of the lake, and there's a bunch of skeleton fish swimming around --- but, that isn't the only kind of fish there is?
And, the new guy lives underwater - can he go above the surface?
And can Thief go above the surface, now that he's been infected? Will the infection go away? Or will he have it for the rest of his life, or until he does something about it?

*Laugh!!!* How do you change the smilies? Do you make them on Paint. Net? It is Ramjik!!! I saw the angry smiley before I saw the announcement. ;D What is a "Symbiote?" I think I'd have the same reaction to that as Theif... "Huh?" "Huh?" "Huh?" "Huh?" It just sounds like something I'd do. Can you really spell "smileys" two ways?

Hey, questions I can answer without giving things away!
A symbiote is an organism that lives by leeching off of another organism, but doesn't harm the other organism. (Also called a symbiont)
"Smiley" isn't an official word, so it can be spelled however. I tend to use Smiley for the singular and smilies for the plural. That's just me, though.
And yes, it is Ramjik.

Heh, I bet you enjoyed those questions better than the ones you can't answerer... How does someone get a symbotie? Can they, like they do in the comic, actually help people? Did Thief get it through his cut? Speaking of questions you probably wont answerer... Oh, that's good, I don't have to worry about misspelling it. ;D Unless I hit the wrong key by accident... which happens a lot...

You misspelled it, already.
Thief got it- wait...I'm not answering that. That'll be answered in a bit.
But yeah, a symbiont can help. If it doesn't help, it's generally called a parasite.

Oops, yes I did... How can they help? What things can they do? There isn't a known one that can help someone breath underwater, is there? If there was, we either wouldn't know about it because the government or scientists would still be using and experimenting it, or there'd be somebody selling it for millions... right?

Right.
Most symbiotic relationships involve fungi and trees, (or fungi and small creatures)
As of yet, no one is aware of any that can let you breathe underwater.

Well I guess it's better than one of those explainations that takes up a whole strip. Those things are annoying sometimes. Also, I'm guessing that's... oh, I forgot what it's called, but it's when the symbiote helps the host and the host helps the symbiote in some way, is what I'm thinking here.

That would be what's called a Symbiotic Relationship, if I'm getting what you're saying.

Neat - I wonder what they can do... (Searching it on the Internet now.) ;D I like the close up on the bonefish. So --- is there a big thing about this, now? I have so many questions that can't be answered without spoiling it all: will Thief owe something to the bonefish now, or was it just kindness on the bonefish's part; will Thief end out taking quests, like Beastling did; did he just pass something big - like, now it's been proven he can do something others, can't, or something? That last one would explain why the other guy didn't save him; or was the other guy not able to help - handicapped, in a way? Well, I'm just gonna have to wait... with my luck, all my guesses above are wrong. But there's more - I have so many guesses, and I'll just have to wait to find out! Well - the good news is that you've got someone's attention on the comic and what's going on. If I were reading this in a book, this would be one of those parts I'd stay up late just to find out what's next. Did Thief leave his jacket when he set it down? Do you look at and read the links on your site and choose them yourself, or does your host choose them for you or something like that? Just wondered, with my interest in the whole website thing, myself.

The sites I link in the Links page are sites I myself like, for varying reasons. The ones that show up in the Xepher.net newsbox are the only ones Xepher does anything with, and those are just the ones he hosts.
Thief left his jacket when he was drowning, yes.
