So, yeah, ya' may've noticed the new button in the nav bar up top, beside "Profile" and "Logout." That's chat.
I...am not impressed. Unless you (in this case, I) pay, there's no sort of security. You just go there, and choose a name and say "Login." I've already impersonated most of you at least once, so I know it's not bothering to compare our list to its own.
So...a few rules: Don't pretend to be anyone you aren't. Use whatever name you want in there, just make sure we know who you are (and keep it clean, as always). If you happen to be on at the same time as someone else, PM them if you want to play around in the chat room.
Speaking of, there's only one room, and it's anything but private. Keep private conversations somewhere else, I'm afraid.
I think that's all of it, so if you still want to use it, go ahead.
Have fun!

Hm... I did expect something else. But it doesn't seem too bad. ^_^

Must've missed this thread. XP
Hm..it is different. I usually use Java aps on my forums, but it's the same basic thing. Open to the public and whatnot.
There is this one spammer out there, and he/she has hit darn near 50+ forums with three pages of..er.."nasty" links. He/she hasn't found this forum, but just a warning if somebody with jumbled letters/numbers/weird characters shows up in the chat.

Hm... scary... I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the warning.

Actually, I've got it set so you have to be logged in to get to the chat, but you can still choose any name, there. That should help prevent people like that from showing up.

It helps..but this guy tends to register, too, if he/she can't post as a guest. >.< Since said person hasn't been here, though, I doubt you have anything to worry about. Since all the sites I've seen him/her on were linked on DeviArt, I have a feeling he/she might be a lurker from there. >.>

Hmm...'tis possible. We had one person show up once, who I deleted shortly thereafter, who spammed links to site which I do NOT want to be affiliated with...

I'unno. I deleted them pretty quickly, already. Their IP was blocked, too, so I don't think they'll be back.

Huh... interesting... How does it work, in taking away access to a site?

As an administrator, I can tell it not to allow specific IP addresses to register. They can still look at it, but they can't register (and therefore, can't post).
