I think it depends on the feather...
Though, most of those laws like that are in place to prevent poaching of the critters. People used to (and still do, sometimes) kill them off and sell their feathers, hence we have laws that seem silly to (mostly) lawful people.
As for copyrights, if you have the band/group's permission, you are technically allowed to use their work. If you're posting something they made on public domain, you're essentially giving away their hard-earned property. It's not a big deal if they didn't plan on charging for it, but that's why the laws are like that.

i agree. even when the laws seem stupid and weird, if you stop and think... hmm... no, yeah when you stop and think, you usually can understand why their there.
although, in my oppinion, some laws really ARE stupid. but their there because people act like idiots sometimes, and so, force us to make laws so they can't act stupid and the get a law suit!

In Oklahoma, it's illegal to take a bite out of somebody else's burger.
In Indiana, it's illigal to ride a bus within 4 hours of eating garlic.
There's more...but I don't feel like looking through all my many Ripley's books to find 'em. 'Cause they're really big..and I don't actually like to read. XD

Heh...  I looked up loads of those, at one point... ^_^ 'Tis illegal to take your cow down mainstreet after a certain time of day. You may not have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at any time. Some of them get paid by the click-thru. Some of them get paid by the post.
This guy probably doesn't even speak English. He lives in some economicly stilted country in asia or the middle east, where the few cents a day he makes doing this helps feed his family.
Some places now have laws against spam e-mailing, but that just means that even spamming jobs are being pushed overseas.
Not all laws, even ones like that, work out the way you planned.
